FAQs

Products & Ingredients

What wax does Thistle & Glow use?

we use 100% natural soy wax in all of our wax based home fragrance products. It is plant-based, biodegradable and provides a clean, even burn with an outstanding hot & cold scent throw.

What Fragrance Oils does Thistle & Glow Use?

We use high quality, IFRA compliant fragrance oils. Every fragrance blend is tested for performance and safety in both our wax melts and candles. All of our fragranced products include the correct CLP safety information and allergen disclosures.

Are Thistle & Glow’s products vegan & cruelty-free?

YES! We pride ourselves on stating our products are all cruelty-free, vegan, eco-friendly, paraben & phthalate-free and we do not test on animals.

What is the burn time?

Our wax melts come in blocks of 6 cubes with each cube offering a minimum of 10 hours fragrance before swapping them out. Our 30cl candles weigh 220g and offer a minimum of 50hours burn time. However burn times for both can vary, dependent on room conditions and your fragrance choice.

What wicks does Thistle & Glow use ?

We use only cotton wicks that are free from lead, zinc and paraffin.

Product Care & Safety

How do i get the best burn and scent throw from my Thistle & Glow candle?

  • First burn: Let the melt pool reach the edges of the candle jar, we recommend 2-4 hours.
  • Trim the wick between each use to around 1/2cm before each burn to prevent mushrooming and soot.
  • Burn for between 2-4 hours at a time.
  • Keep away from drafts and heat sources to ensure an even burn.

What can i do if my candle tunnels, mushrooms or soots?

  • To prevent tunnelling, let your candle burn long enough to fully melt to the edge of the candle. If tunnelling has started, a longer supervised burn is advised to help level the wax out.
  • If your candle begins to soot and your flame is too high, this is due to the length of the wick being too long. Make sure to trim your candle wick to 1/2cm in length before each burn.

Is it safe to burn my Thistle & Glow candle to the bottom of the jar?

For safety reasons you can stop burning your candle until there is about 1cm of wax left at the bottom to avoid damaging the surface. However our Thistle & Glow candles all come with a silver lid which can be doubled as a candle coaster.

Basic Safety Measures

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pet. Burn on a heat-resistant and stable surface away from flammable items and drafts.

Allergens & Sensitivities

How can i check for Allergens?

All of our home fragrance products has a CLP label. We can also provide CLP documentation on request before you buy, if required. All allergens are displayed clearly on these CLP labels.
